Sea Salt Baths

Many people first discover the value of a good sea salt bath when they embark on a detox program. Often times these are recommended as an additional way to remove toxins from your body in addition to the strict dietary regiments of such detox programs.

The value of a properly executed bath with sea salt should not be taken lightly if you’re a health conscious individual. The ancients were quite aware of its healing properties, and the type of salt taken from the waters of the Dead Sea were in quite a demand thousands of years ago. Only now is modern man waking up to the natural benefits from bathing in such waters again.

Sea salt is derived from simply taking sea water and evaporating all the water thus leaving you with a collection of minerals commonly called “sea salt”. Not all seas contain the same minerals in the same quantities so salt from different parts of the world will have differing values to those who wish to use them in a sea salt bath.

Even sea salts taken from the same seas may not be equal when you purchase them as some companies who sell these salts have actually already removed the valuable minerals in them leaving you with nothing more than ordinary salt. So it’s important when shopping for sea salts to be used for therapeutic purposes that you are only buying pure unrefined sea salt.

It is currently thought that the sea salt from the Dead Sea are the highest quality available that we know of and if you are going to try sea salt baths for the first time it is my opinion that you accept nothing less if you wish to get the full healing effects that come with these baths.

You can go to an expensive spa to have your first sea salt bath and lay down a lot of unnecessary money or you can do what thousands of others are doing; and that is buying the highest quality mineral salts and taking them right in their bathtub at home. The effects are the same but the cost is so much less.

Bath salts have been around as long as I can remember but they have been limited in the past to mostly Epsom salts and magnesium chlorides. Now that sea salt is more readily available for bathing, bath salts have become elevated to the status of wine or gourmet coffee as connoisseurs seek out the highest quality salts for bathing. If you’ve never tried a sea salt bath I highly recommend you give it a try.
